Isole Borromee

Isola Superiore dei Pescatori - Fishermen Island owes its name to the particular and primary activity of its inhabitants. The charm of this island is due to its archaic simplicity and rustic innocence of houses and narrow streets that pass through, making the island one of the most romantic places of the lake. Not to miss are the restaurants that offer the opportunity to taste the fish from the lake.

Isola Bella - built from 1632, the palace and gardens of Isola Bella are the most important attraction of Lake Maggiore. During the visit of the Palace Barromeo you may admire the ground floor to the upper floors, many richly furnished rooms, the pomp of any kind. In the gardens which have a height of 37 meters (with 10 decks), there are plants of all kinds and from all sources that make this garden a fantastic example of Italian gardens of the time; the pyramidal arrangement of gardens, certainly unique, decorated with fountains and flower beds.

Isola Madre - it's the largest of the Borromeo islands and more characteristic for the experienced, quiet and enchanting atmosphere: a garden of rare plants and exotic flowers where white peacocks, parrots and pheasants live free: all species that create the magic of a tropical land. Isola Madre is particularly famous for the blooming of azaleas, rhododendrons and camellias. The palace of the sixteenth century, interesting atmosphere for the reconstruction of the time as well as for its art collections of porcelain dolls was opened to the public in 1978.
